Gil Granero reviews 25 years of artistic career in Castell d'Aro

Utopia by Gil Granero

"Utopia" refers to the dome as a common architectural element from various civilizations of East and West.
That utopias can not be met, does not mean it should not be sought and at least in the field of visual arts we can afford this meeting of civilizations.
The dome inherently contains a sphere, a circle, which conveys harmony with its ways, balance and overall non-violence, non-aggression.
That is the crux of the dome and hence different cultures (Muslim, Jewish, Christian) use it as the culmination of their temples. Hence the vagueness of my domes, even if they are inspired by Prague, Rome, Venice, Istanbul, I do not realize too, just to stay with the essence of the message.
My pictorial language has always been a dialectic between building i deconstructing images (also in botanical theme also presented in this exhibition). It is a journey between abstraction and figuration where the seizure is more important lines and pictorial magma that forms to which they refer.
